Chris Bourne
Started With Exeter City Council as an Indentured Technician through Institute of Civil Engineers. Moved to Devon County Council Engineers Dept with several roles in Highway Maintenance. Went Contracting and had progressive roles as Project and Contracts Manager.
I took early retirement and then undertook Consultancy, Management and Insurance Assessment roles and also during this time, I developed Pegasus Outdoor Ventures which provides Environmental Education, Bush Craft and Survival Skills. This continues still to now mainly provide Rest and Recovery Weekends for mostly Ex Service men and Blue light Service personnel in a remote Woodland throughout the summer months. As a CPTSD Therapist and Registered Practitioner this often leads to a continued input into the lives of those attending.
Throughout my career I also ran the Local Scout group for a few years until our own family began to take more of our time. I was a Swim Teacher with the ASA and STA and life-saving instructor with RLSS as well as 50yrs spent for the DofE as a Coordinator, Leader, Expedition Supervisor and Assessor supporting young people, with Expeditions in Ireland, Scotland, The Lake District, Isle of Skye, North York Moors, Dartmoor, Exmoor and South Africa. During these 50 years seeing many, from our Open Award Group, gain their Gold Award and attend presentations at Buckingham or St James’ Palace.
