Jay’s Aim

With the support of the charity’s trustees, Dan founded Jay’s Aim in 2018 following the sudden death of his younger brother, Jay, who tragically passed away from a sudden cardiac arrest while out running in 2017.

Dan has a strong background in education, having worked as a secondary school Physical Education teacher for over 20 years. Throughout his career, he has also held several pastoral leadership roles, developing extensive experience in student wellbeing, safeguarding, and educational practice.

As Chief Executive Officer, Dan draws on his deep understanding of education and pedagogy to lead the charity’s strategic direction. He has been instrumental in developing an education programme that provides free, hands-on CPR and defibrillator training to children across the South West. Under his leadership, Jay’s Aim has also delivered nearly 300 publicly accessible defibrillators to schools, sports clubs, and community spaces.
